JSC is excited to welcome Elizabeth Brewington to our board. Elizabeth is very familiar with our program, having served as a corps member with East Durham Children’s Initiative in our 2017-2018 cohort. Her experience as a recent alum of the program are an invaluable addition to the board and we are excited to welcome her.
Elizabeth is a native North Carolinian, who spent most of her life in Greensboro before moving to Ohio to attend the College of Wooster. There she received a Dual Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and religious studies. Her senior thesis explored the role that protestantism played in the development of the Danish and American prison systems. She continues to live in Durham and is now the Opioid Response Project Coordinator for the North Carolina Council of Churches.
JSC is still a very important piece of Elizabeth’s life and she is grateful for the opportunity to stay connected to the program in this capacity. She joined the board because she personally knows the impact JSC can have on the lives of young people and would like to help strengthen and grow that impact. Please join me in welcoming Elizabeth Brewington to our board of directors.
