JSC is delighted to welcome the Rev. Stephanie Yancy to our board. She is the vicar of St. Titus’ Episcopal Church in Durham and was ordained and served in the Diocese of Maryland for several years before moving to Durham five years ago. Stephanie first came to know and appreciate the Episcopal Service Corp in Maryland and is pleased to be able to support the program here in North Carolina.
Prior to ordination, Stephanie worked as a banker for twenty years. She finds that some of the skills acquired in that field are helpful in ministry as well. She hopes to put those skills to good use on the JSC Board of Directors.
We are delighted to have Stephanie join us and look forward to all she will bring to JSC.
As this is a season of transition for us, we also must say goodbye to two of our most faithful members at they rotate off the board. We are grateful to Ginny Runge for her service to the board, particularly the last two years as board chair. Ginny is the living embodiment of Servant Leadership. We also say thank you to Laurie Alexander, whose leadership included chairing our Fellowship Committee. Laurie’s gift for gracious hospitality defined the corps member experience where no CM ever left an event hungry if Laurie and her team had anything to do with it!
