Who Knew There Could Be So Much Collaboration?

October 6, 2014 · Johnson Service Corps Archives

Since arriving at the Johnson Service Corps collaboration has been a big factor in each of our lives. Everything that one person does affects the rest of the group. It is a powerful and great thing to be apart of. I have been on teams and have had close friends, but it does not compare to living in an intentional community. In our daily lives we help each other out or vice versa and have to be aware of all our actions. This is a new experience for all of us, and I believe we have all realized how important it is to support each other through the good times and the bad times. I am amazed at how nice and open everyone is. It encourages me to do the same for them. There is a real sense of genuineness in the house and I am looking forward to what this next year holds for us.

–Chris Shore is serving at Club Nova.  He enjoys running and cooking/eating almost anything.

Collaboration is one of the 5 values we reflect on during the service year.  Here’s the JSC definition:

Collaboration: I trust in the abundance of creation to provide all that is needed, so that individuals and groups can collaborate instead of compete. I strive to engage others in full participation and lead in such a way that builds leadership in others.

Collaboration collaboration, community
