Benefits of a Johnson Service Corps Member at Your Organization

Johnson Service Corps provides a transformational year of social justice and personal growth for young adults.  We partner with local service and social justice organizations in Orange and Durham counties (and some rural areas nearby) where corps members work 32 hours/week from September – July.

A Well-Vetted Corps Member: Corps members are selected through a rigorous application and interview process to ensure they have skills for the workplace and maturity to handle all the commitments of the program.

An Experienced Corps Member: Corps members have college degrees or equivalent work experience.

An Eager Corps Member: Corps members are eager to learn at their placement sites and through JSC’s trainings and retreats.

A Supported Corps Member: Corps members are closely connected to JSC staff, an adult mentor and a spiritual community to support them throughout their service time.

A Learning Corps Member: Corps members receive training in Servant Leadership, conflict resolution, personality assessments, group dynamics, anti-racism, power and privilege analysis and other relevant professional and personal skills that will contribute to their success at your organization.

An Affordable Corps Member: Corps members work 32 hours/week for 11 months from September through July.  JSC charges Partner Organizations a $500 sign-on fee followed by $1,250/month, equaling a total investment of $14,250/year.  With these funds, JSC provides the corps members with housing, food, health insurance, and a personal stipend.
